    july 1.....

July 1 mean a lot to me, not because of the change over from British Government to HK Government, because i'm a Canadian....  and of course we have to respect it highness statutory holiday status....

I watched the hand over in 1997 over live broadcast on TV, i also have the tape (yes, we use VCR in 1997) for those who don't know what it is or even used one, good for u... never realize i will be here in Macau when they are celebrating the 10th anniversary. (actually will be in HK over the weekend)

for those of you don't realize most of the HK Museums have an open door on july 1 and july 2... u have to get the ticket in advance from any box office in HK.... and i have to say, downloading MP3 from HK Government website is the fastest, 10 sec for one 4M MP3 file.....

there are a series of Documentary from TVB about the 10th anniversary, man in his early 30's with 48 stores gone bankruptcy; a depressed husband suicided because of the depreciation from the property they bought in 97; an owner of a nightclub in TST red light district closed his club; an actress who won the 2nd running up title of Miss HK .....

there are mean interesting stories happened over the past ten years.. for me, I started in casino since 1997…. What is your story?

    June 13, 2007

It was June 13, 2007, i went out for dinner as usual.  I took the same path i always did to the Fountain and went to the restaurant for "Ox Tail" as they have it on special on Wednesday night.

I got there around 19:20 and ordered the dish, then the waitress told me the complimentary soup is out.....

anyway, i came all the way, for the Ox Tail, not the soup, so be it.... the dish got here, always good, finished it in about 20 mins, checked the bill and headed home.

when i left the restaurant, there were only a few drops, by when i got to the half way mark, it poured like there is no tomorrow.  i waited under one of stores and realized it wasn't going to stop....

something hitted me, then i walked home in the heaviest rain, the entire body is wet, but feel so good.

i knew i was there.... how about u?

    How business works!!

Three contractors are bidding to fix a broken fence at 24 Sussex Drive
    (prime minister's residence).
One from Alberta, another from Newfoundland and the third, from Quebec.
They go with a government official to examine the fence.

The Albertan contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring, then works some figures with a pencil. "Well," he says, "I figure the job will run about $900: $400 for materials, $400 for my crew, and $100 Profit for me."

The Newfie contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says, "I can do this job for $700: $300 for materials, $300 for my crew, and $100 profit for me."

The Quebec contractor doesn't measure or figure, but leans over to the official and whispers, "$2,700." The government official, incredulous, says, "You didn't even measure like the other guys! How did you come up with such a high figure?"

The Quebec contractor whispers back, "$1,000 for me, $1,000 for you, and we hire the Newfie to fix the fence." "Done" said the official and they shook hands.

never thought about being an expat in my entire life....

    1. when you found you have more stuffs back home than at home
    2. your cell phone is mainly for outgoing calls only
    3. except you are at work, you are alone most of the time
    4. when you see other ppl eating dinner by themselves, you automatically think they are an expats, just like you
    5. you speak two or more languages fluently
    6. you miss wife, your friends, your relatives more

    Macau Bus is the best!!

There are three buses i can take at the bus stop which will stop close enough for me to walk to the office within 3 mins.

i went to the bus station a little earlier (3 mins be exact) then yesterday and expected to get to work on the same time as yesterday.....

if it wasn't a rainy day, if all the buses past by are not jam packed... if one of the three buses i can take did arrived.....

after five maybe six possible attempt, i finally got into the bus from the rear exit (of course the bus driver knows) on the 7th... i was thinking to take a taxi which will cost me 10 times as much as if i take the bus...

i got in paid for the fare on my way out, and got to office 20 mins behind yesterday schedule!!

life is hard, but it is harder in macau!!

cheer for the great small city with bus just a little bit bigger than the 16 seats mini-bus in HK!!

    joke to share.....Globalization

Question: What is the truest definition of Globalization?

    Answer:  Princess Diana's death.

    Question: How come?

Answer: An English princess with an Egyptian boyfriend crashes in a French tunnel, driving a German car with a Dutch engine, driven by a Belgian who was drunk on Scottish whisky, (check the bottle before you change the spelling) followed closely by Italian Paparazzi, on Japanese motorcycles; treated by an American doctor, using Brazilian medicines. This is sent to you by a Canadian, using Bill Gate's technology, and you're probably reading this on your computer, that use Taiwanese chips, and a Korean monitor, assembled by Bangladeshi workers in a Singapore plant, transported by Indian lorry-drivers, hijacked by Indonesians, unloaded by Sicilian longshoremen, and trucked to you by Mexican illegals.....

    That, my friends, is Globalization!
